Email to target pages allow you to mobilise supporters in contacting decision makers directly. An up to date list of UK MPs is available, so supporters can contact their MP directly based on their location. You can also add any details to your page to connect supporters with relevant decision makers. You can create a set template, an editable template or open text box for supporters to send.
Follow our step by step guide to creating an email to target action page:
Step 1: Navigate to Pages and create a new Page
Navigate to the Pages homepage and select Create New Page in the top right:
Step 2: Choose your email to target template
Select your organisation’s email to target page template to start creating a new page:
Step 3: Enter page details
Enter details including: title/share title, share description, share image, who the recipients of the email are and the redirect, then select Create page. You can edit these details once you've built your page, so you don't need to worry about having things finalised, you can change at a later stage. In choosing who recipients are, you can select all UK MPs from the drop down or select that you'll enter your own recipient details.
Tip: If you want to email specific UK MPs only, select all UK MPs at this stage and then adjust later during the page build process by selecting specific MPs only.
Step 4: Setup, build and preview your page
Once you’ve added page details and created your page, you’ll be redirected to a preview of your page - from here, you can seamlessly navigate between the Setup, Build and Preview tabs at the top to perfect your page.
In setup you can adjust page and share settings, as well as access advanced settings if you want to include your own HTML or CSS.
Tip: You can attach a goal to your page in Page Settings so that the page action counts towards an overarching goal.
In Build, you can tailor the page content and journey:
1. Adjust recipients
Adjust who is receiving the email. This will default to what you entered in page details as above. If you selected all UK MPs but only want to email specific MPs, select enable/disable recipients to choose:
Alternatively, you can enter your own recipients for this action:
2. Adjust form settings
Here you can adjust how you want the action to work and present to supporters, including adding an introduction and instructions, adjusting what supporter information should be sent to the recipient and if you want to allow supporters to edit any content or to send a pre-written email.
3. Form content
You can populate what you would like included in the action form here.
Tip: Check the preview as you go to see how your page is building
4. Email settings
Here you can add your email template and set your sender. Your supporters will be included in all emails sent, and recipients will reply to your supporters directly.
5. Thank you email
Choose if you would like to enable an automatic thank you email to action takers and set the message here:
6. Create your journey
Use the left side menu in Build to create your overall journey from action page to share and any redirects or custom steps
Tip: Adjust the share channels you'd like to include and give them an order of priority - we've found WhatsApp to be the best performing, so by default have set this as first.
Step 5: Preview, view and save
You can preview your page as you build and also make quick edits from the preview anywhere the pencil icon is available. You should preview your page once you have finalised the build to check it's appearing as expected. Use the mobile and desktop icons top right to view how your page will appear on different devices. You can also select View in the top right to open your page in a new tab to view how it will appear to action takers. Select save when you're happy with everything!
Step 6: Access your page
Your page will now be available to access from the overview. Navigate to the Pages tab and select your page - this will take you to a page overview where you'll be able to view analytics as well as access your page URL:
Tip: You can edit or view your page at any time by selecting Manage > Edit or View in the top right of your overview page:
